Well, colour me happy! There’s fabric texta’s included too!

I was the colouring book kid – I pretty much rocked at staying inside the lines and mostly remembered to put the lids back on my textas – that giant yellow plastic temple to crayola was the shit!… those twist up crayons were the best – lasted longer then textas and you could gradient the colours. Aside from the books though – I remember doing this project in year 3 where we had to make our own paisley pattern inside a giant snail shell and individually colour each part. I spent far too much time on that damn snail – pretty sure I even brought it home to finish it off even though the project was over, think mum also got happy with the laminator

Needless to say I freakin LOVE colouring-in so when I stumbled upon the Colour-In Dress by Berber Soepboer & Michiel Schuurman via Just Another Agency’s blog my eyes lit up like it was xmas morning 1989. One of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while – Soepboer and Schuurman definitely deserve to get five gold stars AND a scratch and smell for this puppy.

Designed and developed as part of a collection for an exhibition, the Colour-In Dress came about as collaboration between Dutch designer Soepboer and graphic designer Schuurman conceptualizing a dress that could “partly be designed by the person who wears it”.

You can get yourself come colouring in action by hitting up their website for full ordering details and shooting the dudes an email.  It even comes packaged with the fabric textas! <3

…now, that’s just beard

For those that know me, know about my beard envy – seriously, if I was a dude and I could grow one… I would grow the most epic beard known to man / beast.  I’d also have one of those awesome moe’s – you know the ones where you twist them up at the ends, they’re pretty damn cool. 

So, what has brought on this sudden need to blog about beards? Patrick Mohr, that’s who.

On Friday, for Berlin Fashion Week showcasing his SS11 collection – he sent his models down the catwalk with prosthetic bald caps and faces full of bum fluff. Men and women that is. You got to love that kind of commitment – this guy clearly has balls of steel. LOVE!

… I’d say more about his collection but I’m kind of distracted.

Lady Gaga whips out the big guns  ‘Vogueing’  her pants off with machine gun nipples in the Alejandro video released last night.

Directed beautifully by Steven Klein… and with more bowl cuts then you could poke a stick at this is one delicious moving fashion editorial to feast your eyes on even if you’re not a Gaga  fan.

Accordion what?

Beardo Australian Illustrator Brendan Ninness (also known as my other half) has undertaken the most insane but awesome task of attempting to unearth the best of the weirdest illustration / illustrators the world has to offer with his blog ‘Accordion Face‘.

Only online for going on two weeks now but it is fast becoming a relative gold mine of all things ‘ewwww’ and ’seriously wtf!’. At a time where anything illustration that gets any exposure / pimpage seems to be either street art or naive indy styles (not that I’m saying that there is anything wrong with these!) – its a breath of fresh air to see something different.

So, in an attempt to share the love / fat rolls / vomit / deformities – Check it out!!

I’m on a horse

Saw the new ad for Old Spice last week and been meaning to share it with you – possibly the coolest ad I’ve seen in ages! A massive sign of the economy coming out of the recession with more advertising spend?  Erm, fark yes!

Not only is it completely pee-your-pants hilarious, the production values are crazy awesome.

Wait for it… it’s one continuous mise-en-scène – i.e. one shot! They built half of a boat on a beach with bathroom set on top of the boat and with the delicious old school magic of ropes and pullies they managed to pull off the whole ad with only one use of CGI in the entire ad (seen right at the end with the diamonds and the bottle in his hand… that’s it!!). Yes the horse is real too. Freakin rock!

Okay so I wasn’t intending on featuring another shoe design so soon but these puppies by Brazillian footwear designer Andreia Chaves are CRAZY awesome!

My fav; The invisible shoe – its exactly as it sounds; made with a flexible mirrored surface reflecting its surroundings.

And coming in a close second! The Prism Shoe… god damn I hope these go into production! (currently only concept designs)

Love  these cuffs by Parisian jewellery designer Taher Chemirik – part of his Spring 2010 collection.

Now, it may be just me but they totally remind me those little portable camping stove burners…yes? Possibly part of the designers inspiration? Awesome none-the-less
